Brandon, Tyler, my mother-in-law, and I took the Charlotte light rail downtown. Tyler loved it!!! Every time the train would stop, the would say (and sign :-) 'more'. Once we got downtown, we checked out the Imagin-On, the library. It was beautiful and full of things for Tyler to play with. He was very overwhelmed by it all and wasn't too sure what to do at first.
After the library, we walked down to the Epicenter (a 3-story building that has so much to do, night life and things during the day). Honestly, you name it and they have it. Thursday nights they have Alive After Five with a band. We ate dinner at a little deli and then went out to the courtyard to listen to the live band. Tyler loved dancing and seeing all the people.
We brought his little 'leash monkey' and he thought he was soooo cool. He felt a huge sense of independence!
